'Liver branding' surgeon Simon Bramhall to face trial

A liver surgeon who was accused of branding his initials into a patient’s liver is to face trial.Simon Bramhall, 53, who has left Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, faces two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to alleged incidents in 2013.The liver, spleen and pancreas surgeon, from Tarrington, Herefordshire, has been pleaded not guilty.The case is due for trial on 11 December at Birmingham Crown Court.It follows alleged incidents on 9 February and 21 August 2013.Midlands Live: Man ‘inches’ from bus wheel crush; Alabama Rot warning after dog death
